Qualflood™ PAM Polymers for Oil Industry

 

Enhanced Oil Recovery

This process has been used to increase the efficiency of oil recovery for tertiary floods. By adding the viscous polymer solutions to the flood the efficiency of the volumetric sweep is increased, channeling and breakthrough is decreased, overall oil recovery is increased. Typically 1mt of polymer usage could gain an extra 150mts of crude oil. It is very cost effective.

 

Qualflood™ series of product is developed to suit many different temperature, saline, permeability or oil viscosity conditions for enhanced oil recovery. The standard range Qualflood™ range of products can be directly, or combined with a cross-linking agent, injected into the oil stratum. These products can be used with an oil stratum temperature lower than 60°C and total dissolved solids (TDS) lower than 6,000ppm.

In oilfields where higher temperatures and higher TDS levels are encountered, the Qualflood™-T series polymers can then be used. These products are directly injected into the oil stratum and cross-linked underground, and it is stable for temperature up to 110°C and TDS up to 30,000ppm. If the product is cross-link treated prior to the injection, it would be stable for TDS up to 150,000ppm. This could allow using the recycled underground water for polymer preparation, which offers great saving in water consumptions.
